Greenfield consultancy, Italy

Greenfield solar in Italy starts with the people who have already built it.

We are a consultancy for investors looking at Italian greenfield photovoltaic, agrivoltaic and storage projects. We do not develop projects ourselves. We put you in front of the Italian professional firms that start them, carry them through authorisation and see them connected — and then let their own record do the talking.

What you are really looking for

An investor arriving in the Italian market does not need another intermediary describing the opportunity. They need to know whether the people who would do the work have done it before, and whether the land underneath the project stands up.

Two things decide a greenfield site before anything else is worth discussing: what the land is, and how far it sits from the point where the plant would connect.

Site plan: rows of modules on a parcel, with a dashed line to the connection point

Firms with plants already connected

The professionals we introduce have their own record of projects taken through to grid connection. Ask them for it directly when you speak: references belong to the firm that earned them, not to the person making the introduction.

A file that stands up

Land registry extract, town-planning certificate, measured distance to the connection point. On a greenfield site these are not formalities — they are most of what there is to look at.

One counterpart in English

Italian permitting has its own vocabulary and its own sequence. We sit between the two sides long enough for both to understand what the other is asking for.

The same land and the same connection point decide a data centre project too. If that is what you are looking at, start there instead.

How it works

Four steps, and the introduction is the last one rather than the first.

  1. You tell us what you are after

Technology, size, regions you would consider, and whether you want raw land or a project already moving.

  2. Confidentiality where it is needed

Nothing identifying is exchanged before the parties have agreed how it is handled.

  3. An anonymised first look

Enough to form a view on the opportunity, without naming the site or the counterparties.

  4. Direct contact

You deal with the Italian firms yourself, on your own terms, with us available if something needs unpicking.

Where the experience sits

Ours is years of consultancy work in the Italian renewables market: knowing which professionals are worth an investor’s time, what a greenfield site needs to have on paper before it is worth discussing, and where an entry into this market usually goes wrong.

The engineering, legal and authorisation record sits with the firms themselves, and they present it to you directly. We would rather you verify that with them than take our word for it.

The smallest project worth putting through this process is around 1 MW, across photovoltaic, agrivoltaic and battery storage alike. Below that, the professional cost of doing the work properly stops making sense for an institutional counterparty.

Figures and thresholds on this page are indicative and are given for orientation only. This website is not an offer to sell or a solicitation to buy any security, financial instrument or participation, and it is not investment advice. Professional services are provided by the appointed firms under their own responsibility and engagement terms.

Questions we are asked first

Do you develop the projects yourselves?

No. We are a consultancy. We introduce investors to the Italian professional firms that carry out the work, and the work is theirs. The full sequence is set out under how we work.

Can I see references before committing to anything?

Yes, and you should ask for them from the firms themselves. They hold their own record of plants taken through to connection and present it to you directly.

What size of project does this apply to?

From around 1 MW upwards, for ground-mount photovoltaic, agrivoltaic and battery storage projects anywhere in Italy.

Do I need to speak Italian?

No. We work in English and Italian, and the introduction is set up so that nothing important depends on the language gap.

Tell us what you are looking for

Technology, size, region, and whether you want raw land or a project already moving. We will tell you honestly whether this is something we can help with.
